Between October 7 and November 11, 2023, more than 10,000 Palestinean lives were lost, more than 4,000 of whom were young children. In the New York Times article, “Violence by West Bank Settlers Cannot Be Ignored," author Serge Schmemann uses disheartening statistics to elucidate how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has allied with right-wing extremists who have illegally settled in the West Bank. At the end, Schmemann concludes that the U.S. government should demand Israel to stop right-wing coalition building without compromising its continued support to Israel.
